Our Principal
Welcome from our Principal
"Choosing the right school for your child is one of the most important decisions a family can make. You want your child to feel valued, safe and inspired, to look forward to coming to school each day, to build genuine friendships, and to be taught by teachers who are passionate, professional and deeply caring. At Wollongong High School of the Performing Arts, we believe education should nurture both the heart and the mind. We are a school built on kindness, accountability and thoughtful decision making, where students are encouraged to take pride in their achievements, show respect for others, and contribute positively to their community.
Our students excel academically, with HSC results among the strongest in the Illawarra, and they shine on stage and beyond through exceptional artistic performance and creative expression. These achievements are the result of a dedicated staff team and a culture that values hard work, integrity and belonging. We have high expectations for learning and behaviour, and we take a proactive approach to wellbeing and inclusion. Bullying and harassment have no place here. Our students learn the importance of empathy, responsibility and courage in their everyday actions.
I am incredibly proud to lead a school where students not only achieve their best but become good people in the process. I warmly welcome you to Wollongong High School of the Performing Arts, a place where every child is known, challenged and supported to thrive."
Kylie Wood, Principal of Wollongong High School of the Performing Arts
