Congratulations to Leisel Price from the class of 2022 ! We are so super proud of this amazing student and her fabulous design.
Leisel's Textiles Major Work has been selected for the 'Shape' Exhibition at the Powerhouse Museum Sydney. Shape is an annual exhibition of exemplary Major Projects developed by HSC Design and Technology, Industrial Technology and Textiles and Design students.
The three-piece costume was designed for the character Orgon in a contemporary adaption of the 17th century play Tartuffe by Moliere. The patchwork coat is made from old jeans collected from family and friends. The front is embellished with recycled belt loops, to mimic the button and buttonhole detailing of the traditional French justaucorps. Leisel included a range of techniques including a welt pocket, reverse applique, and machine embroidery.
Leisel is currently studying Design at Enmore TAFE
