Congratulations to a group of Year 10 students who had the fantastic opportunity to take part in a 3-day Construction Trade Readiness Program at Wollongong TAFE, thanks to the Regional Industry Education Partnerships (RIEP) initiative.
This hands-on program helped students explore future trade pathways and informed their HSC subject choices.
Over the three days, they gained practical experience in:
📐 Reading and interpreting construction plans
🔨 Using construction tools and equipment
🧱 Working with building materials
📏 Performing measurements and calculations
⚠️ Following Work Health and Safety guidelines
Our students did an outstanding job building sturdy frames and represented WHSPA with pride. Well done! 👏
We are very grateful to have Matt Asgill, Head Teacher Carpentry and Joinery deliver the course and thankful for the support of our students to Neil Bessant from RIEP.
